A big thank you to Amy at Threads In The Nest for blessing me with the Kreativ Blogger Award! Amy has a gift for beautiful crafts, and a love for vintage history that makes her blog a treat to visit. She always has such beautiful pictures and inspiring ideas! As a part of the award, I'm to share 7 interesting things about myself, and then grant this award to 7 other blogs.
7 Interesting things about me:
1. As a child, I once damaged a brand new jeep by pelting it with gravel rock, inside and out. And yes, I'm afraid of Micah becoming the troublemaker I once was.
2. My husband and I were engaged within two months of meeting, and married four months later. Neither of our families ever said a word against it, despite the fact that we were total strangers to our in-laws. Still trying to figure that one out.
3. A Chinese border agent turned a friend and I away from Shenzhen because we were traveling with diplomatic passports and quote, "might be spies".
4. In the Philippines, I slept through an earthquake rated a "7" on the Richter scale. The weird thing is, I'm a light sleeper.
6. I once climbed a mountain side without a rope. It sloped in a lot of places, but I remember resting in the cleft of a near-straight drop, unable to see the ground. It remains one of the top ten stupidest things I've ever done.
7. I just made my 23rd move. If anyone deserved to be called a nomad, that'd be me.
7 Kreativ Blog Award Winners:
1. Helen and Jess from Book Review Sisters
2. Jenn from Jenn Musing
3. Loree Huebner ~ Between you, me, and the gatepost

I hope things go well for you and your family with this movie, Gwen! (WOW! 23 times!? LOL!)
CONGRATS on the award, too. :-)
Congrats on this blogger award, go Gwen!!
Thanks for listing what's weighing on your mind, will be in prayer for all of that once I leave this comment :)
Um...WOW to the 7 things you listed, I think my jaw dropped at almost all 7 of them :) You slept through an earthquake, were considered a potential spy, climbed a mountain without support, and had numerous other adventures.....BEFORE becoming a wife and mom which brings more adventures in a different way :) Very cool and fascinating info, love the chance to get to know you this way!!
LOVE that you and hubby had a quick courtship and your families didn't protest! Something tells me God wanted you to have an unconventional journey with him from the start and your lives were not meant to be normal :) Glad the move has been completed and praying for all answers you need to be revealed as you go forward in faith. It's a season of Pentecost and Divine Justice for God's followers, Gwen. I pray wholeheartedly that you are greatly encouraged as God prepares you and family for tremendous blessings and breakthrough :)
I'm sure God has the PERFECT job already prepared for hubby, now you just have to trust Him for revelation. I also speak that as you wait for answers to get computer repaired (my desktop broke down 10 days ago and waiting for answers, I'm communicating with my laptop), that you will get double the creativity for your writing and that it will FLOW through you like never before.
The whole time I've been typing this response, I only sense anticipation in my spirit for you and your precious family. God has awesome blessings, unity, finances, and adventure for you Gwen, but He wants you to trust Him to take care of the details for you. He has MORE for you and He's bringing it NOW. I plead the blood of Jesus over your writing, your move/new home/new situation, over your blog, over your computer, over your finances, over your marriage to His purpose and glory. Amen! Get ready, Gwen...your prayers are being heard and answered.
Big time hugs and blessings,
Kara
Thanks Rissi, lol, yeah, 23 counting from age 2. :-) Some say, oh Gwen, you've had such an interesting life, traveling to so many places. And i say, yes, but those who have never had to say goodbye to their closest friends are the lucky ones.
Kara, your comment had me near tears. Such a word from the Lord -- thank you! And thank you for continuing to stand by me in prayer. Like you, i feel that there are blessings right around the corner. Its been a scary move and a scary step, but God is going to use this for His glory. I am excited for all that He has planned, and awestruck and humbled that He would want to use me to accomplish His work in the lives of my loved ones. The devil may try to steal my joy and confidence, but i wont let him have it. Working computer and internet or not, I'll continue to write and believe God for His blessings upon my blog and stories as i seek His will everyday. :-)
So glad the move is over Gwen! Keeping you in my prayers, for sure :)
Speaking of earthquakes, we had one the other day ... it was only 4.2, but enough to wake the kids. I've never experienced one before!
And thank you for the Kreativ Blogger award!!! So honoured you would think of us :)
I'm so happy to hear the move has been completed. I will keep you in my prayers as you adjust to your new living arrangements. It's a big change, for sure!
Thank you for the award! I'm excited to share it on my blog. :)
Thanks so much for the award! And Congrats on receiving it! Glad you're settled and I'll pray for you. Can't wait to hear your posts about your new life.
The side of a cliff with a rope. Nuh-uh! I am terrified of open heights!I think I'd find it an honor to be considered a spy! That's awe-some!!! :)
Gwen!
Glad you are safe and sound in Kentucky!
Thanks for the award. I think it's hysterical that you slept through a "7 on the Richter Scale" earthquake!
Gwen, I will certainly pray for all your needs! Pls. pray for DD who has some of the same needs!
Thanks.....blessings~~~
Jackie S.
You're welcome, Helen! Of course i thought of you and Jess. :-) Thanks for your continued prayers, i need patience, and then more patience, lol!
An earthquake in Australia! Im glad it wasnt serious, and that you are all okay. My sister woke up during the earthquake in the Philippines, and thought i was shaking her. Then she saw me asleep in my bed, and the book cases trembling.
Thanks for your prayers, Gabrielle, the Lord knows I need them :-) i was very happy to pass the award on to you! Your blog always blesses me.
You're welcome, Jessica! I love the creative, fun atmosphere of your blog. Yeah, climbing without a rope was insane. I was foolishly trying to show my Marine sister and her fiance that i was no pansy and could keep up with them. And i love telling the Shenzhen story, lol! It was hilarious then and still is now. :-)
Me too, Loree, and I'm more than happy to pass the award on to you. :-) It is hysterical that i slept through such an earthquake! I usually wake up for anything. I looked it up on news archives -- it was 112 miles to the north of Manila, a 6.8 ( yeah, my teenage memory exaggerated a bit) and amazingly, only one person died of a heart attack, and just a handful of people were injured.
Thanks Jackie, prayers on the way for DD. :-)
Will definitely be praying for you!
Thank so much for sharing with us! I really enjoyed learning more about you :)
Thanks for your prayers, Faye! I'm glad you liked my list. :-) One of these days I'm going to run out of interesting things to share about myself. Perhaps at that point I'll entertain everyone with facts about my characters. That interview i did with Lord Altamont was pretty fun :-)
